The IEEE Baltimore Section is thrilled to announce and welcome you to our First IEEE Baltimore Technical Colloquium and Professional Development Conference to be held at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), November 2, 2024. In today’s rapidly evolving and dynamic work ecosystem, the conference theme, “Innovating Tomorrow: Navigating Emerging Technologies with Strong Leadership Skills for Sustainable Success” addresses the importance of technological awareness to pursue new opportunities for career growth,be competitive, be innovative and stay relevant. By combining technical skills with strong “power skills”, such as leadership, problem-solving, adaptability, and others, you can enhance overall professional success and thrive effectively in changing work onsite or hybrid environments.
This inaugural conference is a collaborative platform for professionals, practitioners, and students to participate in oral presentations, workshops, interactive posters and demo sessions, networking, and career development opportunities. Structured into specialized tracks, the conference program will delve into themes with concentrations in Engineering in Medicine and Biology, Power and Energy, Power Electronics, Communications, Computing and Professional Growth and Development. It will highlight diverse topics on existing and emerging technologies that span across the different disciplines. In addition to distinguished keynotes and speakers, the program will feature special sessions for students and young professionals. Additionally, participants can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Hours (PDHs). You can gain valuable insights into industry trends, and interact with distinguished figures from industry, academia, and government.
