Katherine Czerniejewski, Julie Fetzer, and Dana Voll
Katherine Czerniejewski, Julie Fetzer, and Dana Voll are the founders of TINKER: an engineering summer program for high school girls at the University at Buffalo. As female engineering students themselves, the three are especially passionate about increasing the number of young women that pursue a career in engineering by breaking down the barriers and stereotypes they face. Czerniejewski is a senior graduating in Spring 2016 with her bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics, Fetzer is pursuing a double major in Civil and Industrial Engineering and plans to graduate in Spring 2017, and Voll is a senior graduating in Spring 2016 with her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. They are currently working to establish TINKER as an annual camp at the University at Buffalo and hope to expand the program to other universities, in order to continue encouraging more young women to pursue engineering.
