This session focuses on the issues related to the integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and Distributed Generation (DG) and their impacts on power system operation and management. It includes not only potential reviews of large scaled renewable and DG projects and their implementation, economic and environmental analyses, changes in the power system protection, but also micro/nano scaled renewable energy harvesting and their modeling.

Bio

Dr Thillainathan Logenthiran is an Assistant Professor at the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Newcastle University. His main research areas of interest include smart grid, micro grid, renewable energy resources, and the applications of computational intelligent techniques & intelligent multi-agent system for development of smart grid and modern power systems. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), United Kingdom. Dr T Logenthiran is a Chairman of the IEEE PES Singapore Chapter for year 2018, Degree Programme Director (DPD) of the Master Programme in Electrical Power Engineering, Singapore, and Research Lead in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Singapore. He received several awards and scholarships including the first prize award in Siemens Smart Grid Innovation Contest and a Newcastle Teaching Award.
