Title: When and how to share the frequency spectrum ?
Abstract: Flexible Spectrum Allocation and Secondary spectrum sharing have been proposed as techniques to remedy poor spectrum utilization for over a decade, so far without any significant commercial success. In this talk we scrutinize some of the recent results regarding the incentives and prerequisites for successful spectrum sharing – from both technical and commercial perspectives. We will also discuss the intimate relationship between spectrum and infrastructures sharing, and the implications for 5G.
Speaker: Jens Zander, Scientific Director of Wireless@kth and Dean of the ICT School at KTH. Dr Zander is on the board of directors of the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) and a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences. His current research interests include architectures, resource and flexible spectrum management regimes as well as economic models for future wireless infrastructures.
