Greetings to members of IEEE and the ECE community at UMass Amherst! Us at the UMass IEEE chapter are excited to invite you to our annual IEEE Fall Dinner! Join us for an evening of good food, fun competitions, and community bonding as we wrap up a fantastic semester. Here are the event details:

• 7:00 PM – 7:30 PM – E-Board Presentation, ECE Trivia, and Circuit Solving Competition
• 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM – Dinner (Buffet-style Asian cuisine)

To purchase your ticket, please go to the respective room and time whenever you get a chance. You will also be asked to complete the Google form and UMass travel waiver. Tickets are limited to 80 – so don’t miss out!

Transportation:
No Transportation will be provided. We recommend carpooling or using public transit. (Routes 33 and B43). Check the PVTA Schedule for bus times.

May 11th in Marcus Hall’s M5 between 1-4pm in the Good and Great rooms! Umass IEEE has the privilege of hosting two alumni for a meet and greet:

Andrew Sousa, currently a Hardware Engineering Manager at American Robotics. He has previously done a co-op at Apple and was a hardware engineer at Tulip interfaces. He obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Graduating in 2018. He was previously the president of IEEE and helped with the organization of HackUmass.

Charles Jacco, the current Principle of Cyber Security Services at KPMG. He previously worked at Accenture for 13 years working his way up to managing director. He was listed in the Top 25 Cyber Security IT Executives in 2020. He graduated with a bachelor’s in computer engineering in 2002.

We will be having their general body meeting on Wednesday, March 30th at 6:30 pm in the Engineering Gunness Student Center Conference Room, located to the right of the entrance to Marcus. We will be discussing general membership, opportunities for leadership, and upcoming events for the semester. We also will be serving pizza to attendees at the beginning of the meeting, allowing new members to mingle and network.

This year’s Fall Dinner will be hosted at Bistro 63, located at 63 N Pleasant St, Amherst, MA 01002, on Thursday November 29th, 2018. There will be great food, a cash bar for those who are of age, and fun games and events like trivia and raffles. Not only is it a great time for you and your friends to eat and enjoy some entertainment, its also a great chance to talk to your favorite professors outside the class room! Student’s tickets are $12 and faculty and guest tickets are $16. Get your family and friends tickets and make it a fun family event too!

Tomorrow, Thursday, September 9th, 2017, IEEE is hosting an Idea Jam starting at 6:30 PM in M5. This will go along with our General Body Meeting so if you’re interested, come! It will be a night of throwing out ideas and socializing!
