Seminar titled “Implementation of Advanced Driving Assistant Systems ” is held on 6th January 2020.

The keynote speaker Dr. Jakir Hossen is the Senior Computer Vision Software Engineer at Valeo North America Inc., Troy, Michigan, USA. Dr. Hossen was a faculty member (2005-2010) of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of Chittagong University.

Dr. Hossen received his B.Sc. (2004) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2009) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and PhD (2015) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Memphis, TN, USA. His research focuses on the Image Processing, Computer vision and Machine Learning based algorithm development for Advanced Driving Assistant System (ADAS) feature implementation. His next career move plan is to work on Autonomous Driving System.

Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), are electronic systems that help the vehicle driver while driving or during parking.Advanced driver-assistance systems include electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and traction control. In his talk, Dr. Hossen described how each of this shaping  Advanced driver-assistance systems. ADAS relies on inputs from multiple data sources, including automotive imaging, LiDAR, radar, image processing, computer vision, and in-car networking. Dr. Hossen also discussed about the current developements and the research in this field.
