The institute of electrical and electronics engineering (IEEE) is a professional association with its corporate office in New York City and its operation center in Piscataway, new jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American institute of electrical engineers and the institute of radio engineers. As of 2018, it is the world’s largest association of the technical professionals with more than 423000 members in over 160 countries around the world.

Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronics engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

IEEE student membership is helpful in various aspects.

Few of them are listed below:

• Access to technical resources: IEEE is the world’s largest technical community and it has lot of published technical contents available.
• Volunteering opportunities: IEEE also provides immense volunteering opportunities to exhibit our skills to learn new things. It helps in building a community of interested people and leader who can innovate and do things.
• Networking: attending events of relevant interest not only provides us technical knowledge but also the powerful possibility of networking with peer members.

You can join IEEE by completing the online membership application. For an individual studying at least part time in a technology or engineering field at an accredited institution, to qualify for student rates include: school accreditation, type of degree, also your start and graduation date.

If you do not have a credit card, please complete the online application, but choose the “print and mail/for with payment” option on the shipping page.

Allow three or five weeks from the day you joined vary by country, and/or venue of joining e.g., print application, at a conference. If not received by 5 weeks contact IEEE contact center.

Log into IEEE. Cursor over the link in the header if IEEE called ‘MY ACCOUNT’, From the drop-down window, select ‘MY ORDERS’, where you will be prompted to login again. Upon entry, find and print your receipt.

Log into IEEE, cursor over the link in the header of IEEE called ‘MY ACCOUNT’, from the drop down window, select ‘ADDRESS PROFILE’, where you will be prompted to login again. Upon entry, update and save your information.

Log into myIEEE, select the tab, “PROFESSION DEKTOP”. Navigation to the IEEE job site will be presented in the left navigation bar.

All IEEE members can search and review 2millions+ records and abstracts, and can download articles from IEEE spectrum and IEEE potentials magazines. The ability to download the articles is dependent upon your add-on services, e.g., add-on membership to IEEE’s technical societies, and/or being add-on subscribers to IEEE member digital library.
