Teofilo J. Ramos, Director of Institutional Relations, Tecnologico de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico has been selected as the 2016-2017 IEEE Region 9 Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect. Pending acceptance of the IEEE Teller’s Committee report by the IEEE Board of Directors on 22-23 November, Teofilo Ramos will begin serving as IEEE R9 Director on 1 January 2018. He will succeed 2016-2017 IEEE R9 Director Antonio Ferreira, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The other two candidates for the 2016-2017 IEEE R9 Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect were Ignacio Castillo, Mexico DC, Mexico and Enrique Tejera, Panama city, Panama.

Of the members who voted, 618 selected Teofilo Ramos, 614 selected Ignacio Castillo and 500 selected Enrique Tejera. The valid votes received represents 18% of the ballots mailed.
