Description

Course Purpose: The purpose of this course is to provide a greater understanding of the cyber vulnerabilities of electric power distribution systems and present the technical standards and solutions that are available today to help mitigate the risk posed by cyber threats.

Upon completing this course attendees will:

  • Understand the fundamental concepts, attack vectors, and terms & definitions associated with cybersecurity.
  • Be familiar with and know how to access the latest technical industry standards, best practices, and guides provided by IEEE, IEC, DOE, NIST, and others.
  • Know how to leverage already installed power system assets to achieve state of the art cybersecurity.
  • Know how to implement security technologies to protect distribution assets from both cyber and physical threats.
