We are pleased to announce the first session of our Student Seminar Series. We will have two speakers, Saman Jahani and Saeed Javidmer, who will present there latest microwave and antenna related research. Title: Transparent subdiffraction optics: nanoscale light confinement without metal
Abstract: A paradigm shift in light confinement strategy is introduced and shown that light can be confined below the diffraction limit using completely transparent artificial media.

Title: 3D-printed microstrip resonators for 4.7 T MRI
Abstract: Radiofrequency (RF) coils are a substantial part of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems. 3D printing is an emerging manufacturing technology that offers new prototyping and fabrication methods for MR coils with lesser manufacturing process steps and costs compared to standard coil fabrication methods. 3D printed microstrip transmission line (MTL) resonators with built-in capacitors are designed and fabricated for 4.7 T MRI systems.
