Abstract

Microwave resonators have been around for more than decades and been widely studied for mobile and satellite communications, radar, and electronic warfare applications. Recently they demonstrate a huge potential to be used as non-contact sensors in remote sensing fashion. These resonators are low cost, easy to implement and have a long life time, and their ability to perform in non-contact sensing mode, makes them attractive for harsh or ultra clean areas that sensor contact may reduce the sensor’s life time or contaminate the target sample. In this presentation, we will demonstrate the potential of these types of sensors in different areas from liquid interface detection to gas sensing.
