General Information
Full papers accepted as short papers should be reduced to the short paper page length.
Instructions for final manuscripts
If you have received a paper acceptance email from the TPC co-chairs, please use these author instructions to prepare your final camera-ready paper.
Formatting checks are enforced in the submission phase for final manuscripts. Please allow extra time to fix any formatting errors and use PDF-eXpress to generate a compliant file.
Due to IEEE technical co-sponsorship of NetSoft 2017, your final paper is planned to be included in IEEE Xplore for archival value after the conference. However, IEEE reserves the right to exclude an acceptance paper from inclusion in IEEE Xplore if it is not presented at the conference. Please follow the following steps to finalize the camera-ready version of your paper:
Paper submission template
- Prepare the IEEE double-column US letter style format using IEEE Conference Proceeding templates
Attention: IEEE has updated the LaTeX template – please use the new template from the above link. - For IEEEtran class in LaTeX, use the following as the first line in your LaTeX source file:
documentclass[10pt, conference]{IEEEtran}
- Note that with IEEE conferences, the author affiliation is listed under the author’s name, unlike IEEE transactions.
- Do not add any page numbering, header or footer(other than the copyright info discussed below, if applicable).
Copyright
The appropriate copyright clearance code notice is to appear on the bottom of the first page of each paper per the guidelines set forth in the Cataloging / Copyright Instructions for an IEEE Conference Proceeding. Detailed instructions can be found at: http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/index.html
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the US government, the copyright notice is: U.S. Government work not protected by U.S. copyright
- For papers in which all authors are employed by a Crown government (UK, Canada, and Australia), the copyright notice is:978-1-5090-6008-5/17/$31.00 ©2017 Crown
- For papers in which all authors are employed by the European Union, the copyright notice is: 978-1-5090-6008-5/17/$31.00 ©2017 European Union
- For all other papers the copyright notice is: 978-1-5090-6008-5/17/$31.00 ©2017 IEEE
Latex users can add following lines just before begin{document} for the copyright notice to show up (shown below as an example for the fourth case above):
IEEEoverridecommandlockouts IEEEpubid{makebox[columnwidth]{978-1-5090-6008-5/17/$31.00~copyright~2017 IEEE hfill} hspace{columnsep}makebox[columnwidth]{ }}
MSWord users can use: ‘Insert’ -> ‘Text box’, insert the appropriate copyright notice in the texbox, and place the box (without border) at the bottom left on the first page.
IEEE PDF eXpress
- Go to IEEE PDF eXpress Website.
- Create an IEEE PDF eXpress account (use conference ID: 40469X)
- Use ‘new user’ if you haven’t used this site before.
Use IEEE PDF eXpress to check if your PDF file is Xplore-compliant, OR, else, you can use this site to convert your source files into an IEEE Xplore-compliant PDF file (e.g., for LaTeX users, create a zip file that includes dvi and your eps figure files all together, and then upload the zip file for the system to convert into a compliant PDF file; for MSWord users, upload the Word file and let it convert and return a compliant PDF file). Do NOT use ‘Approve for collection’ in PDF eXpress Plus, if requested.
Camera-ready paper upload on JEMS
- Log into JEMS and upload the following at your paper entry page:
- Camera-ready copy of your paper that must be PDF eXpress compliant,
- A copy of the compliance message from PDF eXpress.
Complete the IEEE e-copyright process. Once you’re at your page for your paper in JEMS, click on the button “Submit to IEEE Copyright System”. This will then walk you through a series of steps. Make sure that the title/author list is EXACTLY as it’s in your final camera-ready paper.
- Please note that in addition to the corrections proposed by reviewers, only minor changes to the title and/or abstract may be accepted. Changes to author list is NOT allowed).
- All such corrections should be done first before proceeding with the copyright step.
- Please complete the e-copyright form by the deadline.
To be published in the IEEE NetSoft 2017 Conference Proceedings and to be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore® and other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases, an author of an accepted paper is required to register for the conference at the full rate and the paper must be presented at the conference. Authors of accepted workshop papers must register for the workshop at full rate and the paper must be presented at the workshop.
Camera-ready upload, copyright form, and author registration must be completed by:
- main conference papers: April 10, 2017
- workshop papers: May 15, 2017
One full author registration is valid for one paper. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the IEEE 2017 NetSoft Conference Proceedings and submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore and other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases. The registration instructions will be soon available on registration page.
