Arc-Flash Safety Compliance—an utility Experience Arc flash is a flash over of electric current that can reach as high as 35,000°F (19,400°C.) Arc flash safety is a main concern for electric utility workers who have to work with energized equipment all the time. Mr. Esposito will explain the nature and causes of arc flash and share the experience in determining the proper arc flash protections.
Mr. Bill Esposito is the Manager of the Power Systems Engineering, Substation and Transmission group for NV Energy, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy utility company which serves most of the state of Nevada, including Las Vegas, Reno and Laughlin. Mr. Esposito has been involved with the electric utility industry for over 30 years, including 18 years at NV Energy. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in both New York and Nevada, and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
