About the Speaker

Joseph Cheung has been an IEEE member since 1974. In the past he served as PES Chair and Secretary of Finance for IEEE, Las Vegas Section. Since 2010 he is back as the Chair of IEEE Power Engineering Society, Las Vegas Chapter. He is a 1978 graduate from University of Nevada, Reno, with a BSEE degree.  After graduation he moved to Las Vegas to serve at the local power company, Nevada Power (which is now NV Energy). He is currently the Supervisor of Substation Engineering for NV Energy responsible for both northern and southern Nevada.
