Joe Xavier

Biography:

Joe started his career as a protection relay engineer and has about 30 years of experience with power system protection and automation applications,

business development and product management. He has authored, co-authored, and presented several technical papers on Protection, Automation &

IEC 61850 applications and is an active member of IEEE PES – PSRC, PSCC committees, IEEE IAS – 3004.2 revision, and is a USNC designated member to

IEC TC57-AG22. Joe is a steering committee member of the vPAC alliance and is contributing to the development of virtualized protection and control

architecture. He currently serves as the Global Product Manager for ABB Electrification – ANSI Digital Substation Products & Digital Systems business.
