IEEE PES FORT WORTH MONTHLY MEETING – SEPTEMBER 21ST, 2021

 

Fort Worth IEEE PES members, we will have our next IEEE PES virtual meeting on September 21st from 11:30am to 1:00pm. We have Dr. Lance Kinney, executive director from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, speaking with us about updates on engineering and surveying ethics and Code of Conduct, Board Activities, rule and statutory changes, and general updates on Board initiatives. SPEAKERS

Lance S. Kinney, Ph.D., P.E.

Biography:

Dr. Kinney is the Executive Director of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. He has been with the Board for over eighteen years and is responsible for all agency programs and activities, including legislative, rule, budget, and policy issues, and represents the Board at statewide, national, and international functions. He also gives licensing and ethics outreach presentations all over the state at universities, companies, and associations. Prior to working at the Board, he worked in the semiconductor industry for 11 years. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from the University of Texas, a Master’s Degree in Industrial Technology from Texas State University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction focused on Learning Technologies from the University of Texas. He has lectured as an adjunct professor in the Engineering and Technology Department at Texas State University and Electronics and Advanced Technologies Department at Austin Community College.

IEEE PES – River Clean Up Event!

 

Hi everyone,

 

We are excited to inform you of an upcoming volunteer opportunity to clean & maintain our chapter’s section of the Trinity River Trailhead on Saturday September 18th, from 9:30am – 11:30am.

 

Please park at 2440 E Fourth St. From there we will head south to our zone (see attached map).

 

Supplies will be provided and all trash bags will be left at the north end of our trail section after the clean-up. We will leave as a group from the parking area shortly after 9:30am to walk down to our zone. If anybody is running behind, there will be supplies left close to the parking lot under the pavilion.

 

Please RSVP by emailing Jacob Ehrhardt, jcehrhardt@burnsmcd.com, and let him know how many people you will be bringing, your T shirt size(s), as well as any questions you may have. There will be free T Shirts for anybody who RSVPs by Wednesday, September 8th!
