Kim Smith is a specification sales representative at Hossley Lighting & Power Solutions. Prior to entering the rep side of lighting, Ms. Smith was a lighting designer for Jacobs Engineering. She has a lighting certification (LC) and experience in the BIM software Revit and lighting software Agi32. Her project experience includes commercial, industrial, healthcare, federal, mission critical and higher education. She has been a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) since 2003 and her passion for lighting education has led her to serve as the current IES District 4 Chair for the southern US, Mexico, and Columbia. Her lighting awards include: 36th Annual SOURCE Award Lighting Design Competition – Commercial Honorable Mention Sustainability Award, (2) IES Dallas Section Illumination Awards – Edwin F. Guth Memorial, (2) IES Illumination Awards of Merit, and an IES Illumination Award for Energy & Environmental Lighting Design.
