Arrowhead Women In Engineering
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is the world’s largest technical professional society. IEEE Women In Engineering (WIE) is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering or science.
Locally, the Arrowhead WIE affinity group is a community that seeks to empower women in STEM by providing mentoring, networking, and career development opportunities.
To that end WIE will:
- Create opportunities for resource sharing through partnerships with other likeminded organizations
- Encourage mentoring and a supportive environment through all of their events
- Aspire to increase female representation throughout the pipeline and in all levels of leadership
- Engage in the practice of “lift while we climb”, embodying the belief that we all do better when we succeed together
- Build a supportive community that can advocate for societal improvements
- Teach women to empower other women
- Promote women’s ideas and allow their voices to be heard
- Empower members to reach their goals by providing support, mentoring, and guidance
