Webinar: Intersectionality and Women of Color in the Engineering Workplace

March 5, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm CST

This session will be based on the Women of Color in the Engineering Workplace study published by SWE and NSBE in 2017, along with the Ignored Potential report published by NSBE, SWE and WEPAN. The session will give an overview of challenges faced by women of color in engineering, as expressed by both reports, followed by deeper dives into the importance of mentoring and professional organizations as support systems.

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

  • Articulate the unique challenges that exist for women of color in engineering.
  • Discuss the importance of mentoring as a support system.
