Fall 2014: IEEE Co-Leading Alaska-wide Radar Remote Sensing Mission AK-ArISE2014
The IEEE GRSS Chapter is co-leading the current Alaska-wide radar remote sensing project AK-ArISE2014. This project is a community-funded radar campaign that flies a highly capable three-channel L-band SAR system on a Cesna 180 over wide areas of Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula and the Interior.

June 2014: Chapter Chair F.J. Meyer speaks at the IEEE Los Angeles Section GRSS Chapter
On June 17, 2014, Chapter Chair Dr F.J. Meyer gave a presentation to the IEEE Metropolitan LA GRSS Chapter on “The Impact of the Ionosphere on Radar Remote Sensing”. The lecture was attended by about 30 people from CalTech, JPL, and other members of the space industry.
May 2012: Chapter Chair F.J. Meyer speaks to the IEEE Alaska Section, Anchorage
On May 25, 2012, Chapter Chair Dr. Meyer visited the IEEE Alaska Section in Anchorage to report on Remote Sensing activities in the State of Alaska. His presentation “Keeping an Eye on Alaska – Cutting Edge Remote Sensing Activities in the State” was attended by about 20 members of the IEEE Alaska Section.
