DeeDee Smartt LynchDeeDee Smartt Lynch is a global interaction strategist, team coach, and consultant with more than 30 years of professional experience. She is a national expert on Belbin Team Roles, a Certified Belbin Trainer and has designed multiple Belbin games and exercises. DeeDee holds a number of additional certifications relating to leadership, employee engagement, team development, and human resources.

DeeDee learned early in her career that effective and inclusive communication leads to positive and sustainable relationships and results. She uses the Belbin Team Roles theory, tools and language to help generate an inclusive team culture. She is fiercely committed to helping individuals, teams and organizations learn to excel through shared understanding and collaboration rather than a defensive and “us versus them” mentality.

DeeDee has provided team training and individual and team coaching for executives, managers and supervisors to prominent organizations such as United Nations, Xerox, Marriott International, Naval Air Systems Command, U.S. Marines Systems Command, Securian, NovAtel, Cooper Industries, Trimble Navigation, NALCO, The Pew Charitable Trusts, Capital Financial Group, Eli Lilly, Ingersoll Rand, World Bank, Airbus, Mitre, and many others.

Prior to becoming a consultant, DeeDee was Director of Economic Development in Andrews County, Texas, where she helped establish a regional energy initiative, attracting interest and investment from the nuclear, wind and geo-thermal industries. She organized cross-state collaborations with local and state entities (including the Texas Governor’s Office of Economic Development) to establish and promote a regional nuclear zone.

As a successful entrepreneur, DeeDee owned an event management company in Austin, Texas, specializing in corporate events and reunions, producing more than 250 turnkey events. Prior to that, she worked at the Texas State Legislature for three state representatives. She is the current Vice Chair and Chair Elect for the National Communication Association – Training & Development Division.
