Presentation Title: Communication and Recent Advances in Solar Energy Systems
Speaker: Jeff Cantin is a clean energy advocate and owner of solar energy firm Solar Alternatives. He holds state contractor’s licenses in Louisiana and Mississippi, and national solar certification in Photovoltaics and Solar Thermal technologies through NABCEP.
Jeff is president and co-founder of the Gulf States Renewable Energy Industries Association, which serves Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama in solar education and economic development. In this role Jeff has lobbied at state legislatures and utility commissions, helped craft statewide installation standards, update building codes, and develop testing for solar energy contractors. Jeff holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, as well as graduate research in semiconductor physics.
