On February 9th, 2021, Prof. Antonio Plaza and Prof. Jun Li were invited to give presentations via Tencent Meeting. More than 50 IEEE GRSS Wuhan members participated in this activity.

Prof. Antonio Plaza is a Fellow of the IEEE and the Head of the Hyperspectral Computing Laboratory at the Department of Technology of Computers and Communications, University of Extremadura. Prof. Plaza gave a speech entitled “Recent Advances in Spectral Unmixing of Hyperspectral data”. Spectral unmixing is a popular technique for analyzing remotely sensed hyperspectral images with sub-pixel precision. In this talk, several recent techniques for advanced hyperspectral unmixing were reviewed, from pure pixel-based techniques to methods that incorporate both spatial and spectral information. Special attention will be given to sparse unmixing approaches, as well as recent methods for nonlinear spectral unmixing and computationally efficient implementations for fast unmixing of hyperspectral data.

Prof. Jun Li is a Fellow of IEEE. She is currently a Professor with the School of Geography and Planning, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. She is serving as the Chief Editor of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing. Prof. Li gave a speech entitled “Introduction about IEEE J-STARS”.
