NASA SPACE MISSION ENGINEERING: WOMEN IN ENGINEERING TECHNICAL PRESENTATION

Washington-Northern Virginia AESS is cross-posting this event because it looks awesome!

Ms Florence Tan, Deputy Chief Technologist, Science Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters, Washington DC will begin her talk with a macro view of NASA’s past, present and future missions.  She has stories about the necessity for careful measurement, diligence in hardware design and how, in one particular case, the design was used in an actual mission.  She will talk about building flight hardware on the Curiosity Rover Meet Curiosity and show actual space flight hardware in a show and tell.
The talk is designed to be interesting to practicing engineers and scientists and to inspire college and high school students.  A simple, casual meal will be available. Students are welcome to attend.
