What is MCWESTT?

MCWESTT is the Manitoba Community for Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology. The idea for MCWESTT came after Manitoba hosted the 13th Biennial Conference of the Canadian Coalition of Women in Engineering, Science, Trades and Technology (CCWESTT) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This was the first time that this national conference was held in Manitoba.

The 2010 conference was a resounding success with six keynote speakers, two panel discussions, 28 breakout sessions and a poster session. Over 230 attendees reflecting a diversity of professions, geographic locations, experiences and ideas, attended the conference. The excitement from meeting new and old friends, hearing success stories and being empowered created Momentum in Manitoba. We realized the benefit from having time to come together, to listen and learn from one another, and we realized that Manitoba has a community that should be celebrated and that we should continue to grow.

So, the idea to do a conference in Manitoba, for Manitobans, was hatched! Here we are, in 2013, and once again, we are bringing together the Manitoba Community to Encourage, Enhance and Empower.
