WRO’2017 Qualifications 23rd September 2017

World Robot Olympiad (WRO) brings together young people from all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities. The international WRO final takes place once every year in November and teams qualify from national competitions to represent their countries. IEEE ENIS SB organized in partnership with IEEE RAS Tunisia 2017 Edition of WRO in Sfax on the 23rd of September.

IEEE Leaders Meeting 4th August 2017

RAS Tunisia activities were exposed at The IEEE leaders Meeting, held at University SESAME on Friday 4th August 2017 with the presence of  IEEE Region 8 (Europe-Africa and Middle East) Director-Elect for 2017-2018 Madam Magdalena Salazar Palma and the President and CEO at IEEE Madam Karen Bartleson.

 

IEEE MESYP 2017 Participation 1-4 August 2017

MESYP is an international IEEE congress that brings together engineering students and young professionals in order to provide technical enrichment and a cultural exchange. IEEE MESYP is a major regional event for R8 Students, the 2017 edition is organized by the IEEE INSAT SB, Tunisia.  IEEE RAS Tunisia Chapter attended this congress to network with IEEE RAS volunteers in the middle-East and Africa and support students and young professionals activities.

 

 

 

IEEE RAS Chapter Chairs Workshop ICRA’2017 2nd June 2017

IEEE RAS organized a RAS Chapters meeting during ICRA’2017, which was held in Singapore on the 2nd of June 2017.  IEEE RAS Tunisia Chapter Chair attended the workshop to present IEEE RAS Tunisia Chapter activities as The RAS Best Chapter of the Year Award winner.

The 2017 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) was held from May 29 to June 3, 2017, at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. ICRA is IEEE Robotics and Automation Society’s flagship conference and is a premier international forum for robotics researchers to present their work. It is timely that Singapore is hosting ICRA in 2017, as the country strives to be a Smart Nation, one where people are empowered by technology to lead meaningful and fulfilled lives, and to support better living, stronger communities, and create more opportunities for all. IEEE RAS TUNISIA Chapter received a major RAS Award at ICRA’2017. Tunisia Chapter is the 2017 Chapter of the Year Award. Nizar Rokbani accepts the award on behalf of the Chapter.

IEEE Tunisia Section Annual Meeting 6-7 May 2017

The Executive Committee should meet regularly to develop programs plans, review progress, and maintain good communication. IEEE Tunisia Section Organized the 3rd annual ExCom meeting at the Royal Kenz Hotel in Sousse on 6-7 May 2017  to discuss the section units activities reports. RAS Tunisia Chapter Treasurer, Ikram Twir attended the meeting to present the section Chapter activities.

Arduino is one of the most used open hadware platform for R&D and educations, based on embeded C, this platform offer a large prototyping facilities.

In Robotics the arduino based wave rised up with several compatible sensors and actuators allowing a fast prototyping robotics machines. This workshop is a typical “Getting starting with arduino” tutorial and is part od a long list of open robotics tutorials arranged by RAS Tunisia Chapter, it inlcludes :

– I) Introduction to open hardward platforms.

-II) The arduino Uno borad

-III) Managing the Arduino IDE

-IV) Logic inputs/outputs

-V) Analog inputs

-VI) PWM outpout
