PWRD Readership

Readers of PWRD papers are from both academia and industry as explained below:

University researchers are a significant reader group. Many of the readers are graduate students. Each person of this group may read many papers.

Industry readers consist of three types. The first type is the people working in R&D centers and companies providing advanced products or studies. This type reads more papers per person. The second type is the postgraduate students who entered industry. They read various materials including technical papers to help their jobs of non-routine nature. The third type is experienced engineers. They also read papers to deal with problems of no-routine nature.

Although each industry reader does not read many papers, the industry reader group has a significant larger population. It is likely that this group reads more papers as a whole.

In summary, the characteristics of PWRD readers have not changed a lot. However, the characteristics of the authors have changed since more university researchers are submitting papers nowadays. The change of author composition shall not be confused with the change of reader composition. PWRD caters for both groups of readers.
