Special Sections or Issues

Active Calls for Papers

1. PWRD Special Section on Resilience-Oriented Protection, Control, and Monitoring Systems for Power Grids (new, full paper deadline July 31, 2020)

2. PWRD and PWRS Joint Special Section on Hybrid AC/DC Transmission Grids (Deadline for full paper submission extended to Jan 17, 2020)

A note for authors: Although there is a deadline for paper submission, it is beneficial for authors if they can submit their papers early. This will enable the guest editorial board to process the papers with more time and energy. An early accepted paper has a much better chance to complete proof reading on time, thus enabling it to be included into the special issue.

The following topics are being planned for future special issues

  • Power electronic apparatus for transmission and distribution
  • Developments in power system measurement and instrumentation
  • Low voltage DC grids – apparatus, configuration, protection, and operation

PWRD editorial board welcomes proposal for special issues or sections. We are also open to any publication ideas that prompt innovative research and application work. Please email your suggestions and proposals to the EIC.

Additional Information for Special Issue/Section Papers

  • Although each CFP has a deadline for paper submission, authors are encouraged to submit their papers before the deadline (the earlier the better). This will enable early start of the paper review and early electronic-publication of accepted papers. In addition, editors and reviewers are less overloaded before the deadline. They will have more time and energy to take care of early submitted papers.
  • In order to accommodate the request for extension of submission deadlines by authors, the various milestones specified in a CFP may have to be delayed. Such information is not updated regularly here. Experience has shown that special section papers take longer time to publish. The main factor is that a special section can only be published when all or most accepted papers have passed proofreading. A delay on anyone of the papers can delay the entire group of papers. So we recommend authors to make their best effort to respond early.
