The IEEE Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems is proud to announce that its 23rd Outstanding Technical Achievement and Leadership Award (the 2021 edition) goes to Prof. Lothar Thiele.
After an initial period spent in Germany and the USA, Prof. Thiele joined the ETH in Zurich, Switzerland, where he developed most of his scientific career researching on models, methods and software tools for the design of Embedded Systems, Internet-of-Things, Cyber-Physical Systems, Sensor Networks, embedded software, and bio-inspired optimization techniques. His scientific contributions span across multiple domains and have led to numerous impactful results, many of which in Real-Time Systems.
