(Call for Papers:

This technical track focuses on theory, technologies, methodologies and applications of real-time and embedded computing to industrial systems, which provides the foundations for new intelligent systems in all application domains. Real-Time and Networked Embedded Computing acts as the central nervous system, providing the means to sense, process and actuate, enabling smart and safe applications in the forefront of Industry 4.0.

Topics of interest

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Real-time theory: timing and schedulability analysis, modelling, verification and validation, model-driven development, hardware/software co-design, worst-case execution time estimation, distributed systems, mixed criticality, fault tolerance, quality of service, time synchronization, diagnosis.
  • Infrastructure and hardware for real-time embedded systems: multicore/manycore architectures, network-on-chip, system-on-chip, wired and wireless communication networks, fieldbuses, networked control systems, sensor networks, power-aware techniques, real-time virtualization, network virtualization, converged networks, software-defined networks, time-sensitive networks.
  • Real-time and embedded software technologies: programming languages, compilers, middleware and component-based technologies, publisher/subscriber protocols, operating systems and runtimes, databases, smart applications.
  • Real-time aspects in smart systems: edge and cloud computing, fog computing, component-/service-oriented architectures and systems, real-time big data, intelligent systems and applications, security and safety.
