25^th International Conference on Optical Network Design and Modelling (ONDM-2021) is orga­nized by the Optical Networks group at Chalmers (Prof. Paolo Monti, et al). The venue is Gothenburg on 28-June – 1-July 2021. IEEE Photonics Society Sweden Chapter will sponsor the Best Student Paper Award.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ONDM 2021 conference will be a fully virtual event.  This will ensure a safe and favorable experience for all attendees

ONDM-2021 addresses cutting-edge research in established areas of optical networking and their adoption in support of a wide variety of new services and applications. This includes the most recent trends such as 5G and beyond; data-centre networking; Internet of things; cloud/edge computing; content delivery; big data, data analytics, network telemetry, and real-time monitoring; autonomic networking; artificial intelligence / machine learning assisted networks; visible light networks; and quantum secured networks.

ONDM-2021 is planning for an in-person event. However, the organizing committee will closely monitor the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In the unfortunate case that it will still not be possible to organize an in-person event in complete safety, the conference will be migrated to an online format letting the presenters and the attendees still present their work and enjoy the conference program.

IEEE-PS Sweden Chapter sponsor a Best Student Paper Award through a 2020 IEEE Photonics Society Annual Chapter Grant [5,000 SEK]. The Chair for the Award Committee is Dr. Xiaodan Pang (KTH/IEEE)
