Student Poster Contest at SusTech 2020

Monday, April 13th, 2020

The SusTech 2020 Student Poster Contest will now be held virtually, in April 23 from 5-9pm PT.

The contestants and their posters can be found on the Contestants page.

After careful consideration of the COVID-19 situation, the SusTech 2020 Conference and the Student Poster Session must go virtual

The SusTech 2020 Student Poster Session will be virtual (using Zoom) on Thursday April 23 starting at 5:00 pm and ending by 9:00 pm.  The conference will be virtual on the next two days – Friday & Saturday April 24-25th 2020.

The poster presenters will be assigned a 15-minute time slot when they will present their poster within a ten (10) minutes period, with up to five (5) additional minutes for QA for each poster presentation.   Posters will need to be in a file; such as a PDF file.  During poster presentation, students can use power point slides to talk about the poster. All presentations will be recorded for judges to review before making their decisions.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners.

There will now be no cost for poster presenter registration.  Those who paid for your their poster registration will be reimbursed.

We feel this is the best decision based on the current situation. After all, we are the Sustainable conference!  Our Technical Program Committee will be exploring the best technology option for authors and presenters for delivering their conference paper and poster presentations in timeslots that are least inconvenient for our international authors.

IEEE SusTech 2016 Student Poster Contest Abstract Submission Deadline Extended to Friday, September 23, 2016 – Both Undergraduate and Graduate Students are Eligible

The fourth IEEE Conference on Technologies for Sustainability (SusTech), October 9-11, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona at the Phoenix Airport Marriott, explores the development and application of science, engineering, and technology to promote sustainability. To meet present needs without compromising our future, advances in sustainable technology, policy and social behavior are essential.

IEEE’s Technologies for Sustainability Conference (SusTech) brings together individuals and organizations who want to promote and apply advances in sustainable technology that allows:

  • Eliminating or reducing dangers such as pollution, global warming, electronic waste and negative impacts to overall health;
  • Minimize the impact of agriculture, energy production, transportation and electronics’ manufacturing and recycling on the environment;
  • Increase operating efficiency by reducing the waste stream; and
  • Use fewer resources to produce the same or better outcomes

The conference explores the development and application of science, engineering and technology to promote sustainability. SusTech brings together technologists and scholars from multiple disciplines to learn about and collaborate on improving sustainable technologies. The program features workshops, keynotes and presentations of contributed papers and invited speakers on research, technologies, methodologies, tools and case studies. SusTech strives to provide attendees the tools, connections and proactive solutions to take their sustainability programs to the next level.

Topics covered at the SusTech 2016 Conference include Internet of Things, Smart Grid, eWaste, Renewable Energy, Water, Electronics, Energy Efficiency, Transportation, and Societal Implications of Technology.

SusTech 2016 invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit abstracts for the Student Poster Contest. Additional information is available here. (Download Poster Contest Updated PDF Flyer here.)
