The IEEE Environmental Engineering Initiative (http://environmental.ieee.org/) has signed-on to be a technical sponsor of SusTech 2017.

The SusTech 2017 Committee is excited to welcome the Environmental Engineering Initiative to our list of technical sponsors, including the IEEE Societies for Social Implications of Technology (SSIT) and Consumer Electronics (CES).

The intent of the IEEE Environmental Engineering Initiative is to create an interdisciplinary forum for the community interested in the area of environmental engineering, including components in various IEEE Societies and Councils which are using technologies and methodologies not yet embraced the wider IEEE community.

The Initiative has this vision that through the initiative, the IEEE community will:

  • Improve its interdisciplinary vision
  • Be able to reach out to underserved technical segments
  • Embrace and empower the whole community working on environmental engineering
  • Expand knowledge dissemination (conferences, publications, curated collections, webinars, educational activities)
  • Contribute to expanding people networking
  • Contribute to supporting standardization activities
