IEEE Power and Energy Society Singapore Chapter has jointly organised ‘NU Women Event’ with Newcastle University in Singapore on 9th January 2018 at NEWRIIS (Newcastle Research and Innovation Institute, Address: 80 Jurong East St 21 #05-04). The event is aimed to provide networking opportunity for female staff and engineering students. NU Women is a network that is open to all women who work at the University. It was set up in March 2009, the network is here to provide a forum for women to meet, share ideas, provide mutual support for their career development, and to feed into the University issues of concern and interest to women members of staff. Prof Kathryn Hollingsworth from the UK delivered the talk. More than 25 attendees participated in the event. Refreshments provided to all attendees. Prof Kathryn encouraged all staff and students to engage with gender equality and diversity agendas of the university. IEEE Power and Energy society is keen to encourage equality and diversity initiatives which benefits women in engineering.
