Dear IEEE Seoul Section members
IEEE Seoul Section Nomination Committee cordially informs Seoul Section members of the following.
- Professor Gilsoo Jang at Korea University (current Seoul Section Chair) was nominated as a candidate for 2024 IEEE Seoul Section Chair by Seoul Section Nomination Committee.
- If you want to nominate a person as a candidate for 2024 IEEE Seoul Section Chair, you should submit the form of nominating him (her). In addition, you should provide the signatures of at least 20 Seoul Section members who recommend him (her). All the materials should be delivered to IEEE Seoul Section Secretariat (seoul.section.ieee@gmail.com) by November 10, 2023.
- 2024 IEEE Seoul Section Chair will be elected at 2023 IEEE Seoul Section Annual General Meeting which will be held at Korea University on December 2, 2023.

BIOGRAPHY:
Gilsoo Jang received a B.S. from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Korea University, Korea in 1991, a M.S. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Korea University in 1994, and a Ph.D from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University, USA, in 1997. He was a visiting scientist in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Iowa State University from 1997 to 1998, a senior researcher at the Korea Electric Power Research Institute, Korea, from 1998 to 2000, and a visiting professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cornell University, USA, from 2006 to 2007. He is currently a Distinguished Member of CIGRE and a Senior Member of KIEE.
Dr. Jang has been a professor in the School of Electrical Engineering, Korea University, since 2000. Within the university, he has previously held administrative positions such as the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering from 2011 to 2013, the Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering from 2015 ro 2017, and Vice President for Planning & Budget of Korea University from 2000 to 2022.
