After Dinner Presentation:
Agile Project Management techniques are rapidly moving in to become dominant for Product Development, especially in the areas of Software and Firmware. There is even some movement to produce a “Hybrid” model to include hardware and other facets of Product Development.

This presentation will be unique in that we will present a video, then discuss what is presented in the video relative to our own experience with Agile Implementation. This subject can be quite controversial, but it is well worth exploring for those either starting an Agile implementation, or who have one in process.

We will discuss two videos, one longer, and if we have time a shorter one. The longer video has a very provocative title “Agile is Dead” presented by Pragmatic Dave Thomas. This was taped at the GOTO 2015 International Software Development Conference. Dave has many years of experience in the subject. He has an interesting take on Agile and “Agility” in PD.

The second video is “7 Common Agile Development FAILS” by Jamie Edwards of Healthy Software Development, a long time software developer and PM. In working with over 30 companies, He has seen seven common agile software development process failures.

Join us for a Presentation and lively discussion of this two interesting takes on Agile PD in the real world. The discussion will be facilitated by Carl Angotti, the Immediate Past Chair of the IEEE TEMS Bay Area.
