Societies & Chapters
As the world’s largest technical professional organization, IEEE offers a number of ways to get involved with technical and local communities, through Student Branches, Affinity Groups and Student Clubs.
Knowledge Communities
IEEE knowledge groups are member- and volunteer-driven communities, providing cutting-edge research and knowledge on various topics. These knowledge groups are called Societies and they provide benefits and opportunities to members within specialized fields of interest. Another hub of Knowledge Communities is IEEE Collabratec, which connects technology professionals sharing similar fields of interests around the globe and helps them establish a professional identity to showcase technical interests, key accomplishments and participate in professional networking groups and communities.
Local Communities
IEEE is divided into ten worldwide geographic regions. Within the regions, there are local sections, chapters, and affinity groups. Student Branches are local groups that provide an opportunity for student members to begin networking in their areas of interest and future profession. Another sub-category of local communities includes IEEE affinity and special interest groups.
Our student branch has already started hosting the following IEEE Societies and Chapters in the year 2022:
