Our Student Branch

The IEEE University of Thessaly (Lamia) Student Branch is a non-profit organization which strives to promote volunteering, engineering, computer science and bioengineering at the School of Science in Lamia. Our annual activity plan includes seminars, workshops, participation in conferences, international contests and competitions, social networking initiatives, and soft skills training activities.

Student Branch Members

Our student branch was established in 2012 and has been continuously active in the academic community since then. At the present time, our group consists mostly of students of the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, but we aim to increase our members by attracting students of all relevant departments of the School of Science in Lamia, such as the Computer Science and Telecommunications Department, the Department of Physics and the Department of Mathematics. To achieve this goal, we have already given informative talks, both in person and virtually due to the pandemic, to a majority of students of the aforementioned departments. The following slides were used to facilitate the presentation of IEEE to the students.
