Dr. Yasir Niaz Khan obtained his Ph.D. at the University of Tubingen in 2013. During his Ph.D. he conducted research on detection of terrain (ground surfaces) using a camera mounted on a flying and a ground robot. Upon completing his graduate studies, Dr. Khan started teaching robotics at FAST-NU, Lahore, Pakistan. He started a new robotics Lab at FAST-NU for robotics students to promote robotics in Pakistan. Dr. Khan supervised many national and international level robotic events held at FAST-NU where professors and students from different universities presented their works in robotics field. Dr. Khan joined The University of Lahore, the largest private university in Pakistan, and has started to extend his work further. He is now Director of Research Group on Robotics and IoT that he established at the university. He is also involved in a project on Agricultural Automation for the 3 years funded by DAAD Germany. The project includes visits to and from Germany of Pakistani and German researchers every year.​

HoD, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, SMME NUST

Dr. Yasar is currently working at SMME as the Head of the Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. He has developed Pakistan’s first MS and Ph.D. programs in the area of Robotics and Intelligent Machine Engineering, which are currently offered at SMME, NUST. Dr. Yasar Ayaz’s research work on Humanoid Robot Footstep Planning, Navigation and Control has been cited by leading universities in more than eleven countries, including USA, Japan, France, Germany, Hungary, South Korea, China, Iran, Croatia, Singapore, and Pakistan. It is also worth mentioning here, that in January 2013, the biography of Dr. Yasar Ayaz has also been published in the Pearl Edition of “Who’s Who in the World 2013” in recognition of his extraordinary international contribution to research and academics in the field of Robotics.

Author of more than 80 International Publications in International Journals, Invited Book Chapters, and International Conferences. Dr Yasar Ayaz also holds 2 x National Records for Maximum International Research Publications and Maximum Impact Factor Journal Publications from any Undergraduate Final Project in the Field of Engineering in Pakistan.

Mechatronics Engineer

Dr. Noman Naseer is originally a Mechatronics Engineer, who did his Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering. His Ph.D. research was supported by the World Class University program funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology through the National Research Foundation of Korea. Dr. Naseer has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and has received around 700+ citations from all around the globe. Reference to his contributions in the field of functional near-infrared spectroscopy-based brain-computer interfaces, his biography was featured in 32nd edition of Who’s who in the world. Berkeley, USA as a notable international researcher.

Assistant Professor, COMSATS Lahore

Wajahat M. Qazi is working as Assistant Professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore and heading “Intelligent Machines and Robotics” research group. His areas of research are Quantum Cognitive Computing and Machine Consciousness. Currently, he is developing a quantum and bio-inspired software framework for the implementation of systems (agents/robots) which possess a certain level of consciousness. Within the area of machine consciousness and robotics he has contributed in the development of following artifacts: QuBIC (A cognitive architecture), quantum computing framework, quantum neural computing framework and unified theory of artificial mind.

Assistant Professor, CIIT Lahore

Dr. Abid Sohail Bhutta obtained his PhD degree from Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He is currently working as an assistant professor at CIIT Lahore. He has published several conference and journal papers at international and national level. He is currently doing research in business process optimization and automation. The process automation revolutionize the process intelligence and autonomous systems epically robotics.

Dr. Muftooh Ur Rehman Siddiqi is an entrepreneur, engineer and inventor. His areas of interest are industry 4.0, renewable energy, product design and sustainability in advance manufacturing. He worked as a consultant to solve industrial robotics and manufacturing problems of Rolls-Royce, Boeing, KUKA Robotics, Siemens Energy and other UK aerospace and automotive companies. He was elected as Chartered Engineer by IMechE, UK and got his industrial doctorate degree from the Advanced Forming Research Centre, University of Strathclyde, UK. He has communicated his work in form of international conference presentations, journal research papers, book and patents.

Mr. Tanweer Bukhari is working as Assistant Professor at University of South Asia, Lahore. He is also Branch Counselor of University of South Asia IEEE Student Branch. His area of interest include; machine imagination, intelligence and consciousness. Currently, he is working with “Intelligent Machines and Robotics” research group at COMSATS and “Cybernetics Intelligent Research Lab” at GC University and developing NiHA (Nature-inspired Humanoid Cognitive Computing Platform for Self-aware and Conscious Agents) which will be computationally equivalent of human-brain/mind.

Dr. Atifa Athar is working as Assistant Professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Lahore and a member of “Intelligent Machines and Robotics” research Group. Her fields of interest are Artificial General Intelligence, fuzzy inference, cognitive and emotive machines. Within the area of emotionally conscious Robots, she has proposed the theory of Unified Cognitive Appraisal in agents and designed a model following this theory. Currently she is working on modelling context oriented socio-emotive robots that leads to the behavior generation in them and make them more believable.

Hafiz Muhammad Nabeel is founder and CEO of EDVON that is developing and teaching an easily accessible robotics curriculum for all K-12 schools. He had been founder and CTO at a renowned company namely, “HAPTIKA” that develops wearable gadgets for virtual reality. He completed his Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan. Later, he did his MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics, Haptics, Teleoperation) from KOREATECH, South Korea. He worked as a researcher at TUM, Germany.
