Greetings from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Student Branch at the University of South Asia, Lahore. 2nd IEEE National Workshop on Robotics and Industrial Automation i.e. 2nd IEEE NWRIA, is a sequel to 1st IEEE IAS NWRIA and is so designed to acknowledge students regarding trend in Industrial Automation and robotics. Academia must keep its pace with revolution of industries and particular research will be done in Industrial Automation for the welfare of the country. Robotics being the major concern pf present technological study must be well studied by computing/engineering students especially for those students who belong to field of Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science or Computer Engineering field. The purpose of the workshop is to brainstorm the latest technological projects going on globally. This 2nd IEEE National Workshop on Robotics and Industrial Automation is being organized by IEEE Student Branch-University of South Asia, Lahore.

IEEE-University of South Asia, Lahore is striving to fulfill its dedication to providing students and engineers’ community with hands-on experience to develop their knowledge and interest in technology and engineering. Hosting a national workshop is also another step to our dedication towards empowering people in robotics and automation technologies.

Objectives of Workshop

Artificial Intelligence and Robotics are fastest growing fields. Experts from various fields will have a chance to share their experiences. Fields include; Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Cognitive Sciences. Although there are signature events in the area of AI and Robotics but there is still dire need to create awareness among general public and students. The Workshop will include various technical sessions, lectures, talks and panel discussions. The aim is;

  • to foster a culture of Industrial Robotics in the country.
  • to establish a strong linkage between academia and industry.
  • to expedite the process of technology and revolution in Pakistan by motivating both academia and industry to acquire, promote and utilize state-of-art technologies/high-tech software for the rapid development of Industrial Robotics and Automation.

IEEE-University of South Asia, Lahore is highly dedicated to helping the academic and technical growth of students through hands-on experiences. We work hard to offer several platforms for students of all levels. Our current focus is on Robotics. Its objective is to build new technology skills. We also plan to offer students educational assistance through technical workshops. These workshops can range from basic concepts to 3D printing and other advanced software and hardware topics. As a way to truly foster technical excellence in the world, IEEE-University of South Asia, Lahore participates in events that encourage younger students to become interested in the engineering and technology fields.
