Being a part of the initiative of building a better and more sustainable tomorrow, the IEEE UOB Student branch organized a Green Energy workshop on March 9th of 2016. The workshop discussed major concepts including solar energy and showcased it’s applications and its benefits for us today; it also discussed pollution and played a documentary that helped in broadening the attendees’ knowledge about such an important issue and gave them an understanding about how to tackle it as a problem in today’s age. The guest speakers in the event were, proudly, our own members among which was our very own SB chair Bassem El Meleegy. The event was very light-hearted with small breaks for refreshments in between talks which allowed air for deeper understanding of the discussed topics. Towards the end of the event, the members attending expressed their pride in being a part of spreading the knowledge about such matters to help building a better tomorrow.
