MESA
Mathematics, Engineering, and Science Achievement (MESA) is a college-preparation program whose purpose is to increase college enrollment among low-income and first-generation college students. A large contributor to the success of the Northern Nevada MESA program are the tutors that volunteer their time to support and encourage the students.
As a tutor with MESA, you are encouraged to work with the teachers and the students alike to develop and enhance hands-on educational activities related to math, engineering, and science. The Northern Nevada MESA program is partnered with the following schools: Dilworth Middle School, Sparks High School, and Hug High School. MESA tutoring sessions are currently offered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, between 10 am and 4:30 pm. The Northern Nevada MESA program asks potential volunteers to commit to at least one hour each week.
