IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter DU organizes several events every month.

On 21st July, IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter DU is going to organize a seminar on Competitive Programming Contest.

Competitive Programming is an interesting activity which mixes problem-solving with programming. It can be considered as a sport in the sense that programmers can solve various kinds of real-life problems using their competitive skills in a fixed amount of time. And Bangladesh has seen a recent growth in this segment due to the passion and enthusiasm of the students not only studying in Computer Science field but as well as other departments as well.

Due to the popularity and the necessity of programming contest in our country, we student branch chapter of IEEE Dhaka University are organizing a seminar on Competitive Programming on 21st July in order to inspire and guide the young generation of the country to learn and improve their skills on Competitive programming as well as to participate in various national and international contests.

Place: JH Langley Virtual Classroom, 2nd Floor, Center for Advanced Research in Arts and Social Sciences – Carass, University of Dhaka

The honorable speaker is a respected member of BACS (Bangladesh Advanced Computing Society) as well as the former coordinator of National High School Programming Contest.

Programming Contest Experience:
1. NCPC 2011 hosted by DU (Dhaka) Position – 1st, Team – DU Resonance
2. ICPC 2009 (Dhaka) Position – 4th, Team – DU Acolytes
3. ICPC 2009 (Amritapuri, India) Position – 4th, Team – DU Dark Shadows

Other experiences:
1. Worked as the coach for programming contest in Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jahangirnagar University since September 2011.
2. Worked as coach of Bangladesh Informatics Olympiad team which won two bronze medals in IOI 2012 in Italy and one bronze medal in IOI 2013 in Australia.
3. Worked as problem setter and judge in national programming contests in Bangladesh. Also a problem setter and judge in ICPC Dhaka Regional 2013.
4. Voluntarily working as one of the trainers in University of Dhaka.
