About IEEE

IEEE is the world’s largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE’s highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E,” stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association is chartered under this name and it is the full legal name. To learn more about the association’s name, for more information please read the History of IEEE.

The IEEE Hyderabad Section is one of the most active sections of IEEE in India. IEEE was formally introduced in Hyderabad, in June 1981, when a group of engineers in Hyderabad decided to form an IEEE sub-section here. This sub-section was rapidly elevated to a full section, in 1984 (the year of IEEE Centenary celebrations). All IEEE members residing in the states of Telangana, India, and Andhra Pradesh, India are automatically members of the IEEE Hyderabad Section.

IEEE REGION 10

Looking back from 1984, the Centennial Year, it has been several years since the first IEEE Sections were formed in Region 10, a geographical entity that covers a large part of the world, namely Asia and Pacific countries and at that time, part of Africa also. The chronological sketch which follows records how the region, through the efforts of its regional committee, advanced to where it is today.

    Hello
Great to see IEEE here too!
Are externals invited to your events?

    • najeebuddinm98

Sorry for the late reply, Mr. Ayant. Yes. all IEEE as well as non-IEEE members from other institutions and organisations can attend the events, conferences and activities advertised on our pages. I hope I have answered your question in clarity.
