IEEE OUCE SB in association with IEEE OUCE Robotics and Automation Society organized an Online webinar on “Latest Trends in Industrial Robotics” on 20th September 2020 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The speaker for this event was Mr. Rajesh Raghavan, GM Sales, YASKAWA Robotics Division. Students from various colleges and even industrialists have participated in this webinar. A total of 103 people have attended the webinar which was held on google meet.
The Session was Graced by Prof. G. Mallesham, Head Of the Department, Electrical engineering Department, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Mr. Maruti Marlapalle, Managing Partner, Nandini Enterprises, and Mrs. Pratima Maruti Marlapalle, Partner, Nandini Enterprises. The session started with the Speakers Introduction which was given by Mr. Martui Marlapalle and then the speaker-Mr. Rajesh Raghavan took over the session from thereafter. He spoke about how robots have been in trend in the Automobile Industry and as well as in the Education sector. He spoke about how YASKAWA built the robots according to the Industry requirements. He also spoke about the opportunities that they provide to students at YASKAWA. Opportunities like Research Collaborations, Industrial Visits, Internships, and Placements assistance to Students. And then he also showed some videos of YASKAWA robots. After the speaker was done, we had a Question and Answer session for half an hour. At last, the session ended with a Vote of thanks from Mr. P. Sudhakar, Consultant, Nandini Enterprises, who was also an Alumni who graduated in 1978 form the Electrical Engineering Department, University College of Engineering, Osmania University.

Mr. Rajesh Raghavan
GM Sales, YASKAWA Robotics Division.
He currently holds the position of GM Sales at YASKAWA India Pvt. Ltd. [Subsidiary of Yaskawa JAPAN] He takes care of the Robotics Sales in India and Sri Lanka Market. Before YASKAWA, he had worked as Senior Manager – NACHI/OTC Robots (Robotics Automation & Products). He has handled over 3000 robots in his vast career expanding over 15 years. He closely works with many leading automotive industries like Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Isuzu, KIA, Daimler, Hyundai, TVS. In addition to this, he also works with Korean and other Asian countries. Although his area of specialization is economics, his passion for robots has taken him to his greater achievements in the field of industrial robots and automation. He is an expert in industrial robots and he facilitates customized robotic application systems in various fields. He is also an advisory member of various engineering institutes. He was instrumental in establishing the Centre of Excellence in Robotics at various universities & Institutions.
