IEEE OUCE Women in Engineering Affinity Group in association with Techsonance 2020 organized a 3k Run, which goes by the theme ‘RUN FOR HER’ on 8th March, 2020 on the occasion of International Women’s Day with the support of University College of Engineering, Osmania University.
The Run saw a turnout of around 100 people and many professors from our college. Soon after the spot registrations are closed, the run started at 7.00 a.m. Prof. M. Kumar, Principal, UCE, OU; Prof. G. Mallesham, Head, Electrical Engineering Department along with Faculty Co ordinators Prof.M.Manjula and Prof.B.Mangu participated in the run. The Run was completed within 40 minutes.
The occasion was graced by Mrs. Sosin Revella, Founder CEO, Aaron Software Solutions and Mrs. Srilakshmi, IEEE SAC Hyderabad Section as Chief Guests. Speaking on the occasion they appreciated the efforts put forth by IEEE OUCE WIE AG and college in promoting Women Empowerment and encouraged to do so in the future. Mrs. Sosin Revella said that we are encouraging women not because they are weak which reflects in their suffering to give birth to a child but to give them equal rights as men. Our principal added that imparting technical knowledge is a step forward to women empowerment and that the college always aims for it.
A winner was chosen separately from men and women. They were each given cash prizes by our Chief Guests and Principal. The event came to an end by cake cutting and IEEE OUCE WIE AG was grateful for all the participation regarding women empowerment. People registered were provided with T-Shirts and refreshments.
