“Youth Parliament – manifest the innate leader in you” was conducted under the Communication Skills Club and IEEE SB OUCE. The main motto of conducting this event is to know the opinions of youth on recent issues which earned attention of the nation and to give the participants, the hands-on experience of the Parliamentary Conduct. With the backdrop of Parliament, discussions were done on 4 bills out of which 2 bills have already been passed by the parliament and 2 bills are yet to be introduced in the house. - RTI Amendment Bill
- People Representatives bill (one nation one election)
- Uniform Civil Code
- Citizenship Amendment Bill
The response was humungous but we have limited number of registrations to 75. Students from all streams of UG and PG level have participated. Prof. G.B Reddy, Dean, Faculty of Law, Osmania University and Prof. P Narasaiah, Professor (Retd.) in Public Administration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University acted as Hon’ble Speakers for morning and afternoon sessions. Prof. K. Nageshwar (Professor in Communication and Journalism OU and Ex- Member of Legislative Council) graced the event as Chief Guest. Prof. S. Ramachandram (Former VC, OU) attended the event as Guest of Honor. Prof. D. Ravinder (Principal, Arts and Social Sciences, OU) , Dr. E. Vidyasagar, Vice Principal, OU were also present. All the dignitaries were amazed that IEEE SB of Osmania University College of Engineering took the initiative. The event was supported by OUCE Alumni Association and cash prizes for the winners were sponsored by SBI. Photography Club of the college has also been actively involved in recording the proceedings of the session. Prof. G. Mallesham, Councellor of IEEE SB lead the organizing team from the forefront.
