EMBS Orientation

On 23rd August 2019, the orientation program of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) was conducted in the Seminar Hall of BME Department from 2.00 pm till 3.30 pm, organized and hosted by IEEE OUCE EMBS Student Chapter, under the guidance of Prof. K. Harish, Student Advisor of IEEE OUCE EMBS Student Chapter.

This session was organized to make the students aware about the newly granted Society by IEEE under the Student Branch of IEEE OUCE known as Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). The session was graced by Prof. M. Malini; Head of BME Department, Prof. G. Mallesham; Head of Electrical Department, also the Counsellor of IEEE OUCE Student Branch and Prof. K. Harish.

In this program, the students were briefed about the IEEE; its history, projects accomplishments, amongst others. In addition, the program was proceeded by presenting a PowerPoint presentation apprising the audience about the agenda, mission and vision, benefits, working plans and membership of EMBS. Afterwards, Prof. M. Malini took the stage to congratulate the IEEE-EMBS Student Chapter for the start of the new Society in the IEEE OUCE Student Branch. She encouraged the students to register for IEEE by stating its numerous advantages we can avail to.

Shortly after, the podium was occupied by Prof. G. Mallesham, where he addressed the audience by firstly applauding the IEEE-EMBS Student Chapter for the accomplishment. He further explained about IEEE’s membership benefits in our career by giving several examples and motivated the students by his speech.

The session ended with vote of thanks by Mr. Najeebuddin Mohammed and Miss Shreya Reddy. This session helped in enlightening the students about IEEE OUCE EMBS Student Chapter.
