“MATLAB for Beginners” workshop

A two-day workshop on ‘MATLAB for beginners’ was conducted on the 23rd & 24th of July from 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm in the E-classroom of EEE department. It was hosted by Professor G. Mallesham, Head of Electrical Department, University College of Engineering, Osmania University. It was organized by the IEEE OUCE Student Branch for the 2nd, 3rd & 4th years of EEE Department. MATLAB is essential tool for every Electrical & Electronics engineer for programming and simulation. In the view of this, workshop was conducted to enlighten students with MATLAB basics and its applications.

On the first day, focus was given on the syntax, functions and other basic tools one must know in order to tackle the programming in MATLAB. The entire explanation was done with the help of a PowerPoint presentation.

On the next day, a few basic and moderate level programs were practiced by the attendees. Sir also introduced the concept of Simulink, its applications and how to effectively work with it. This was done by giving the attendees basic circuits that they had to recreate on their PCs. The commonly used blocks were also explained briefly. The session ended with a Sir clarifying any doubts that the attendees had.

At the end of each day, refreshments were provided for students who attended the workshop.
