DIAMOND JUBLEE 5TH ENDOWMENT LECTURE

Diamond Jubilee Fifth Endowment Lecture was conducted by student branch in association with electrical department UCE, OU on 7th Dec,2017.The lecture was taken up by Prof. Kumpati Narendra, Harold W. Cheel Professor of Electrical Engineering, Yale University on the topic “From Complexity To Mutual Adaption”.The cheif guest was Prof. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor,Osmania University ; Guest of Honor Prof. S. Sameen Fatima, Principal, UCE, OU; Head Prof. M. V. Ramana Rao; Co-ordinator DR. G. Mallesham.

About the speaker:

Kumapati Narendra is currently the Harold W. Cheel Professor of Electrical Engg. and the Director of the Center for Science Systems Science at Yale university. He recieved his B.E. (Hons) degree from University of Madras and his    S. M. and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University.He recieved an honorary Doctor of Science degree from his Alma Mater,the University of Madras (now Anna University) and one from the National University of Ireland (Maynooth).He had lectured over forty universities around the world and has delivered over hundred plenary and invited lectures and has been consultant to over 15 corporations in the country. Prof. Narendra is a recipient of numerous awards.

About the Lecture  

FROM COMPLEXITY TO MUTUAL ADAPTION

Complex systems were have been investigated extensively during the past two decades. The term “Mutual Adaption” was introduced and research was initiated on the subject at Yale in 2011. After six years of research major theoritical results were obtained recently. The lecture will discuss these developments and how they relate to larger subject of complexity.
